Barren River To Hold Family Night Out(side) Aug. 13-15

Looking for a fun family weekend before school begins or just a fun weekend getaway? Visit Barren River Lake State Resort Park for Family Night Out(side) in the campground Aug. 13-15. This is a great opportunity to experience camping, whether in a tent or an RV.
The weekend will begin with a campfire program on Friday evening followed by an owl prowl.
Registered participants will be able to choose from a variety of workshops on Saturday including basic birding, creepy crawly creatures, canoeing, goodness snakes alive, tree-mendous trees and more. Saturday evening will conclude with the outdoor cooking potluck and Amazing Campground race. Activities are designed to consider a broad range of ages.
Sunday morning participants will be able to participate in one more workshop before the event closing.
The registration fee is $50 for a family up to four ($5 per additional person) and includes two night’s camping, scheduled programs and the outdoor cooking potluck. Participants must pre-register for the event through the recreation department at Barren River.

Barren River Lake State Resort Park located 15 miles south of Glasgow on Hwy 31E has a lodge, cottages, Driftwood Restaurant, golf course, fitness center, gift shop, fishing, picnic areas and hiking trails. The resort is also located 44 miles southeast of Bowling Green. Take I-65 to the Cumberland Parkway east, to US 31E south.
