Bowling Green native, Granville Mitchell will exhibit his work in the Porter Cafe at the Main Library at 1225 State Street. Mitchell is a self-taught artist who works as a ticket agent at the Greyhound Bus Terminal. Mitchell discovered his love of painting in high school and prefers working in oil. His energetic work captures movement and the dynamics of life.
A panel from The Dream Rocket quilt project will be on display at the Bob Kirby Branch at 175 Iron Skillet Court. Students and teachers from all over the country participated in creating the world’s largest quilt with the theme: Dare to Dream. The project is sponsored by the U. S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The panel exhibited at the Kirby Branch was made by 1st grade students at the McNeill Elementary School.
Both exhibits open August 2. For more information about this exhibit or exhibiting your art, contact Jayne Pelaski at jaynep@warrenpl.org or call 782-0252.
