Virginia Calvert Minix, 75, of Bowling Green, died at 4:45 p.m. July 9, 2010, at The Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 7, 1934. She was retired from Bowling Green Technical College and was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Scottsville. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved visiting family and friends, especially her great-grandchildren. She also loved being a homemaker, cooking, crocheting and boating, and was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. She was a daughter of the late Leo Calvert and Lorene Cline Calvert. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Charles Calvert.
Memorial service is at 3 p.m. Tuesday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family chose cremation.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Minix; two daughters, Marilyn Lyles and her husband, Michael, of Glasgow, and Becky Fisher, of Scottsville; two stepdaughters, Mitzi Pudlo and her husband, Ricky, of Houston, and Marti Dearing, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a sister, Patsy Smalling, of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Martha Calvert, of Seneca, N.C.; a grandson, John Michael Poss, of Gallatin, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Tracy Metzger and her husband, Jerod, of Woodburn; a great-grandson, Tucker Neal Metzger, of Woodburn; a great-granddaughter, Madison Grace Metzger, of Woodburn; three stepgrandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; a brother-in-law, Cecil Minix and his wife, Anita, of Scottsville; and several nieces and nephews.
