The Friends of Barren River Lake are pleased to announce the annual fireworks event at Barren River Lake State Resort Park will take place on Sunday, July 4 thanks to the generous donations of many! Activities begin around 5:00pm as food vendors arrive and the band, Heart & Soul, begins playing under the shelter at the top of the hill near the tennis court. C & R BBQ Express and Papa John’s will provide food for sale this year. C & R BBQ will serve pork barbecue and smoked chicken sandwiches, grilled hot dogs, coleslaw, beans, chips, candy, and drinks. Papa John’s will offer delicious slices of pizza and drinks.  Bring your family and friends to celebrate Independence Day! The fireworks show will begin around 9:00pm.

Be sure to stop by the information table to learn how you can become a member and supporter of the Friends of Barren River Lake, Inc. The Friends group will sell fluorescent necklaces to raise money for next year’s event. Donations can also be made to support the many programs offered by the Friends of Barren River Lake, Inc.

Following the fireworks, there will be two lanes of traffic exiting the park. The left lane will turn onto Highway 31E North toward Glasgow and the right lane will turn onto Highway 31E South toward Scottsville. Be careful and courteous and enjoy the Fourth of July holiday with your family and friends.
