- Fashionista to the rescue: Sultry Southern Summers
Now that summer is in full swing, every fashionista’s schedule is booked solid for the next few months. Weddings, vacations, BBQ’s and backyard soiree’s are weekly events that require a special outfit. Of course, the first rule of being a fashion icon is to never be photographed in the same outfit twice. This can be a challenge, but with a little bit of creativity and a few smart purchases, a fashion diva can make any outfit spectacular. Here are my summer must have’s for all Southern beauties.
My favorite go to item this summer has been my white jeans. Dressed up with a blazer and heels or dressed down with a tank and flip flops, this is my most versatile wardrobe staple. Add a vintage necklace and a pair fun earrings and you are ready to hit the town.
Summer is my favorite season for one reason: Dresses! Sundresses, maxi dresses, cocktail dresses. The possibilities are endless! No matter what the situation, a summer dress is always appropriate.
If the event is more casual, a shirt dress is a great option. Look for one with feminine accents, such as ruffles around the collar and always, always belt it in some way. You don’t want people to believe you are hiding something…unless you are.
With many outdoor weddings happening this summer, a great colorful maxi is a fantastic choice. Light weight and comfortable, these are great for all those hot and humid nights.
If a formal night wedding is in order, a short cocktail dress is your only way to go. Pick something in a fun color like yellow, and you’ll outshine the bride.
No matter what summer holds for you, make sure your outfit is as colorful as the season. Here’s to warm nights, cool drinks and fantastic memories!
