Company officials are looking to expand into midsized markets in areas near existing stores, said Mike Walters, franchise zone manager for Potbelly.

The company operates five stores in the Cincinnati area and is looking to open franchises in Louisville and Lexington.

“Bowling Green was one of the markets we felt there was some good play there,” Walters said. “We’re really trying to get our name out there and let people know we’re offering franchising.”

The company opened in 1977. There is no deadline to purchase a franchise. Anyone interested should visit www.potbelly.com.
