Well into its second decade of bringing new music to Bowling Green, Revolution 91.7/WWHR-FM is proud to announce its annual spring music festival, Mayhem, to be held at the Southern Kentucky Fairgrounds on Friday, April 30, beginning at 4pm.
Headlining this year’s festival is Via Audio, an indie-pop band from Brooklyn, New York. The band has played at numerous festivals including the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas, the Monolith Festival in Denver, Colorado, and the CMJ Music Showcase in New York City, where Spin.com named them “one of the nine hottest bands playing CMJ.” Their second full-length album, Animalore, has proven to be nothing but success, and Revolution 91.7 is excited to showcase Via Audio at Mayhem. This year, Nashville’s own De Novo Dahl returns to Mayhem to headline as well.
Other acts appearing at Mayhem this year include Oblio and Oso Closo, both popular in the Nashville and Bowling Green music scenes. Local acts rounding out the lineup include The Black Shades, Downtown Handshake, 29 Horses, and Man Oh Man. The night will conclude with an after-party hosted by Bowling Green’s premier rave crew, DMZ.
At this year’s Mayhem, festival-goers will have the opportunity to enter their names into a raffle for skateboards donated by Howard’s Cycling & Fitness, a hookah starter kit donated by Saharan Lounge, spay/neuter vouchers from the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society, and a $25 gift certificate to Yuki Japanese Restaurant.
While there is no admission fee to attend Mayhem, all donations and proceeds will benefit the Hildreth Animal Adoption Center, Warren County’s only no-kill animal shelter. In the event of inclement weather, Mayhem will be relocated to the Jaycee’s Pavilion, also located at the Southern Kentucky Fairgrounds.
