DELAWARE, Ohio — Edith C. Fields, 77, of Delaware, died March 22, 2010, at Grady Memorial Hospital.
The Ironton native was born July 23, 1932. Edith was a 1950 graduate of Ironton High School and a 1953 graduate of Christ Hospital School of Nursing. She also graduated from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky. As a registered nurse, she had worked at Sunny Vee Nursing Home, Grady Memorial Hospital, Sara Moore Health Care Center and had been the director of nursing at Turtle Creek Convalescent Center in Bowling Green, Ky. She had been an active Girl Scout Leader. She was a daughter of the late Clayton Perkins and Mildred Fillgrove Perkins and the wife of the late Fred Fields. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Perkins.
Funeral is at 11 a.m. EDT Friday at Saint Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was a member, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT today at Robinson Funeral Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Smith, of Delaware, and Dorothy Flowers, of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Nancy Fields, of Delaware; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeane Glenn, of Ironton; and a sister-in-law, Dinah Evans, of Columbus.
