James Haskell “Jim” Singleton, 78, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife on March 18, 2010, in Bowling Green in the presence of his family.

The Memphis, Tenn., native was born July 29, 1931. His humanitarian spirit was reflected in his many memberships in civil and social organizations, including the 20/30 Club, Lion’s Club, Civitan Club, Elks Lodge, Loyal Order of Moose, Masonic Lodge, Southern Kentucky Antique Automobile Association, Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce and Indian Hills Country Club. He was a distinguished Kentucky Colonel and a Maker’s Mark Ambassador. He also served in the Army Reserves and was the owner of Copy Trolley Printing. He was a son of the late Haskell Clyde and Sallie E. Singleton. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Glenn Alan; and a brother, Roy E. Singleton.

Funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sarah M. Singleton; two daughters, Lisa Singleton-House and her husband, Kevin, and Patti Singelton Reagle and her husband, Gene, all of Bowling Green; a sister, Gloria Ford and her husband, Robert, of Bakersfield, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Wayne Lee Reagle and his wife, Deshonna, Christy Leigh Reagle Sneed and her husband, Wes, Johnathan Christian Singleton, James Paul Singleton and his wife, Lori, Sarah Nicole Reagle and her fiance, Kyle Moore, Cody Alan Reagle and Davis Sexton; five great-grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Martin, Jackson Fenway Moore and Kaitlyn, Alyssa and Jayden Reagle; and several nieces and nephews.
