MADISONVILLE — Johnny H. Carson, 93, of Madisonville, died at 11:40 a.m. March 11, 2010, at his residence.
The Bowling Green native was born Dec. 22, 1916. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a deacon emeritus, member and former Sunday school teacher at Second Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Marvin Henry and Nellie Elizabeth Iglehart Carson. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Thomas, Elsie Carson and Mildred Hyde.
Funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and begins at noon Sunday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Second Baptist Church in Madisonville or Green River Hospice.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ivy Lou Sears Carson, of Madisonville; three sons, Johnny Dale Carson and his wife, Suzann, of Amherst, Va., and Steve Carson and his wife, Charlene, and Dennis Carson and his wife, Patty, all of Madisonville; two brothers, Bob Carson and his wife, Maxine, of Bowling Green, and Melvin Carson, of Glasgow; six grandchildren, Ben Carson, Eric Carson, Forrest Carson, Samantha Carver, Hannah Carson and Emily Carson; and six great-grandchildren, Sage Carson, Ethan Carson, Olivia and Zachary Carson and Meagan and Maggie Carver.
