Landscaping Workshop at Warren County Public Library
Published 12:00 am Wednesday, March 10, 2010
As part of the Warren County Public Library’s Cabin Fever Series, Timothy Mullin presents Victorian Landscaping: Your Yard, Old School Charm. He will discuss a brief history of the Victorian garden and provide easy tips to create your own beautifully landscaped yard.
“From ancient times, the pleasure garden was the privilege of the rich, but that began to change with the rise of the middle class in the early 1800s,” says Mullin. “The aristocratic English Naturalistic Style of the mid-18th century became the standard for every aspiring Victorian suburb.”
Timothy Mullin is the Department Head of Special Collections at the Kentucky Library and Museum. He was previously Director of the Museum Division at the Historical Society of Delaware in Wilmington. Before that, he served as the Director of Magnolia Mound Plantation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
This event, held at the Main Library at 1225 State Street on March 25 at 6:00 p.m., is free and open to the public. For more information about this event, call 270-781-4882 or visit: www.warrenpl.org.
