Leona Faye Weaver Elam, 75, of Bowling Green, died at 10:37 a.m. March 7, 2010, at Greenview Regional Hospital.
The Huntington, W.Va., native was born March 17, 1934. She was a retired property manager and a member of Trinity Freewill Baptist Church in West Virginia. She was a foster parent to dozens of children through the years. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by everyone whose life she touched. She was a daughter of the late Ellis Weaver and Jewell Heisel Weaver and the wife of the late Hobert V. Elam. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Weaver.
Funeral is at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include three daughters, Vickie Elam McNay and her husband, Michael, of Newport, Dreama Elam Smith, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Melanie Elam Hall and her husband, James, of Bellevue; a son, Jack Elam and his wife, Glenda, of Bowling Green; a brother, Ellis Weaver Jr. and his wife, Grace, of Dayton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Leslie, Karen, Matthew, Christopher, Lensey, Nicholas, Emily, Ashton, McKenzie and Katherine; five great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brianna, Aiden, Thomas and Christian; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
