- Mancini’s Original Scores Performed
Orchestra Kentucky and Maestro Jeffrey Reed celebrate one of America’s musical giants with Mancini Magic, March 1st at 7:30 pm at Living Hope Baptist Church. Featuring some of the best loved tunes from the movies and television, this VIP series concert will include the favorites Moon River, The Days of Wine and Roses, and the theme from The Pink Panther.
“Henry Mancini really stands alone in both the immense body of work in his career and the variety of styles he mastered,” commented Maestro Reed. “From cool jazzy swagger to lush symphonic scoring, his compositions and arrangements mark the golden age of television and of Hollywood.” In a career that spanned five decades, Maestro Mancini was nominated for a record 72 Grammys, (he won 20) awarded 4 Academy Awards, and was presented the prestigious Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995.
Maestro Reed will be conducting Orchestra Kentucky using the original Mancini scores made available for the first time. The concert is made possible through the support of Col. Robert and Cora Jane Spiller and US Bank. Tickets starting at just $10. For information, call 270-846-2426 or visit on line at OrchestraKentucky.com
