Danny D. Mefford, 71, of Bowling Green, died at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 15, 2010, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 9, 1938. He was retired from AT&T as a system tech after 34 years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and Bowling Green Masonic Lodge No. 73 F&AM. He was a son of the late Alex “Short” Mefford and Gurthie Gilliam Mefford.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with Masonic services at 7 p.m., and begins at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ann Mefford; four sons, Tim Mefford and his wife, Sandy, of Franklin, Keith Mefford and his wife, Jennifer, of Woodburn, and Jerry Mefford and his wife, Michele, and Terry Mefford and his wife, Shelia, all of Bowling Green; a brother, Alex Mefford Jr., of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters, Norma Butler, of Smiths Grove, and Melba Mefford, of Bowling Green; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
