Snacks at theater are a little overpriced

My daughter and I recently went to see “Avatar” at the Great Escape theater.
I was definitely looking forward to spending time with my daughter and it had been awhile since we had been to see a movie. We went to a Wednesday matinee to save a little money. I saved $5 between the both of us. The reason I am writing this is my dismay at the price of the popcorn and drinks. The last time I went within the past year the price was $13.50 for a large popcorn and two large drinks with a refill plus a box of candy.
Well, this visit the price of the popcorn and drinks was $17.50 and you did not get the candy. Wow, has popcorn really been inflated that much in a year? I haven’t noticed it at the grocery store or maybe they haven’t got the word yet. I know it is an option to buy, but who goes to a movie without popcorn? I think since Great Escape owns both theaters in Bowling Green, it can charge whatever price it wants and take advantage of its customers.
The theater in Glasgow still sells the same thing with the candy for $11.50.
I don’t think I will be going to a movie anytime soon.
