POLICE NEWS: Pizza delivery driver robbed of dough

A Bowling Green man bit off more than he could chew after allegedly robbing a pizza delivery driver.

Quinton L. Hampton, 24, 1500 Bryant Way No. G3, was charged with first-degree robbery after being arrested at 2:39 a.m. this morning.

According to a Bowling Green Police Department arrest report, police responded to a robbery, meeting the victim at Pizza Hut, 1200-C Smallhouse Road.

The delivery driver was robbed of cash and pizzas, and the subsequent investigation traced the order to a phone call from Hampton’s live-in girlfriend, the report said.

Police found the delivery bag between the location of the robbery in the 900 block of Bryant Way and Hampton’s apartment, and pizza matching the stolen order was found in Hampton’s refrigerator, according to the report.

Hampton remains in Warren County Regional Jail without bond.

Arrest — Michael A. Sansoussi, 36, 920 Sue Ann Court, Orlando, Fla., was arrested at 1:44 p.m. Wednesday at Shady Ray’s Pawn Shop, 221 Gordon Ave., and charged with receiving stolen property valued under $10,000.

According to a city police arrest report, Sansoussi attempted to pawn a 52-inch flat-screen TV that had been stolen from Christ Episcopal Church, 1215 State St.

Sansoussi admitted stealing the TV, valued at $2,000, from the church, the report said. The TV was returned to the church.

Sansoussi was wanted on charges in Florida and remains jailed under a $2,500 bond.

Burglary, criminal mischief — Someone stole an air conditioner and a heating unit from an unoccupied apartment in the 2500 block of Crossing Boulevard between midnight and 12:30 a.m. Friday, according to a city police report. Losses and damage totaled $3,454.

Indictment — Jason M. Gatewood, 31, of Bowling Green, was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky, the alleged offenses occurred Nov. 6.

On that day, law enforcement conducting surveillance in Bowling Green saw Greenwood driving a car and stopped him after learning that he had outstanding warrants against him on a felony assault charge.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, officials seized a loaded 9 mm pistol from the passenger side floorboard, multiple packages of marijuana and $1,958 in cash.

If convicted, Gatewood could receive a minimum of 20 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison, be fined up to $750,000 and subject to supervised release.

The Bowling Green Field Office of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case with assistance from the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force.

Gatewood is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 17 on all charges in federal court.

Sentencing — Jimmy Roy Pendley, 43, of Morgantown, was sentenced Tuesday in federal court to nine years in prison on a charge of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Pendley will also have to serve three years of supervised release after his release from prison.

Pendley had earlier pleaded guilty, admitting that on Sept. 11, 2007, he and a co-defendant, Jordan Tracy, had conspired in Butler County to manufacture meth.

Theft — Someone attempted to steal two TVs from Walmart SuperCenter, 1201 Morgantown Road, between 9:35 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to a city police report.

A store employee said that a woman attempted to walk past the cash registers without paying for the two 40-inch TVs.

When the employee stopped the woman and asked whether she had a receipt, the employee was handed a receipt from another store.

The woman then left the TVs in the cart and ran outside, jumping into the back of a white Ford Focus occupied by two men.

Theft — Someone stole a 1996 Honda Accord worth $2,000 parked in the 1300 block of High Street between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday, according to a city police report.

Theft of mail matter — A Bowling Green man reported that someone stole two checks totaling $151.01 from his mailbox in the 600 block of E. Eighth Avenue between Dec. 18 and Jan. 11, according to a city police report.
