Relax. He’s already asked you out, so he finds you attractive. Now, it’s your job to blow his mind. First things first. What are you doing? Is he taking you on a fabulous dinner date or are you playing it more low key? Latest romantic movie or a night at home? Either way, it’s a special night so you should add a little something special to your outfit. My rule of thumb is to always over dress the part. Better to be the best dressed in the room than the girl who didn’t turn any heads.
One mistake I feel girls constantly make is that they don’t dress to impress guys. You may think you do, but you don’t. A girl’s idea of what is sexy is typically totally different from that of the opposite sex. I feel that you should always dress to highlight your best asset, but leave something to his imagination. A great example of this is Halle Berry. She does sexy in a classy, understated way that always leaves guys wanting more.
When I asked a friend what he would like to see his girlfriend in for a Valentine’s Day dinner, he responded that he loves seeing a girl in a fitted sweater dress with boots. Of course, I suggest you do a little more. A wide belt adds an esthetic touch juxtaposing the leather of the belt against the sweater. A high heel stiletto boot is always a great option, especially on a cold Kentucky night.
As you head to the movies, throw on your favorite pair of skinny jeans along with an embellished tank topped off with a sweater. Add layers and layers of necklaces to stand out from the average “Plain Janes.” Top the look off with a colorful clutch to add a pop of color.
When staying at home, don’t think you can just throw on your Juicy Couture sweat suit and call it a night. A fitted cashmere or merino sweater along with a flattering pair of jeans is always a safe bet. Go easy on the makeup, you’re not competing for the Miss Kentucky title. And of course, your pearl stud earrings are always a classic.
Regardless of your outfit choice, being confident in your own skin is your sexiest look. And remember, always put your best stiletto foot forward!
I’m obsessed with:
- Belts. Gives you a waist even if you don’t have one. Just don’t give yourself a muffin top!
- Layered necklaces, the more the better!
- Deep nailpolish, think violet
- 60’s inspired fashion, Jackie O mets Betty Draper
- Floral, it’s gonna be HUGE this spring
Grab your matches and burn:
- Leggings if you are over the age of 16
- Fake Designer Bags, we all know it came from the flea market
- Overly casual gym clothes. The only place you’re running is to the Dairy Queen.
