Lindsey Gay

Lindsey Gay, 91, of Bowling Green, formerly of East Peoria, Ill., died at 1:35 a.m. Jan. 24, 2010, at a Bowling Green nursing home.

The Stonefort, Ill., native was born May 24, 1918. He was retired from Caterpillar Co. in East Peoria. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria, and a World War II Army veteran. He loved playing golf, watching his granddaughter play sports, coaching sports and visiting with family and friends. He was an avid Bradley Braves basketball fan. He was a son of the late Robert Gay and Eulah Choate Gay and the husband of the late Florence M. Gay and Anne Weigand Gay.

Funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria, with burial in Swan Lake Cemetery in Peoria. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Deiters Funeral Home. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, is in charge of local arrangements.

Survivors include a son, David Gay, of Bowling Green; a brother, Robert Gay, of Marion, Ill.; a sister, Mildred Gay, of Marion; a granddaughter, Lindsay Gay, of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews.
