Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and several Kentucky State Parks are offering special packages and programs in February.

State parks offer a great chance for a getaway weekend along with excellent food, entertainment and natural beauty and scenery. Listed below are the parks with Valentine’s packages and programs. For more information about each park, visit www.parks.ky.gov

Barren River Lake State Resort Park, Lucas – Barren’s Honeymooner’s Weekend Feb. 12-14: This year’s event will be a two-night event and has a “70’s Disco” theme.  Guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite 70’s attire for the dance Saturday evening. Friday night will feature karaoke and other games starting at 7 p.m. Saturday’s activities during the day include the “Not So Newlywed” game, caching for kisses and dance and dance contests starting at 8 p.m. The two night package for $220 per couple includes lodging, both night’s activities, dinner buffet Saturday and Sunday breakfast.  There’s also a one- night package available for $170 per couple. Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park, Mount Olivet – Valentine Special Sunday Feb. 14: You’ve given candy, sent roses and even bought jewelry. Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park, Buckhorn – Romantic Weekend Package Feb. 12-14: Enjoy a romantic weekend getaway with your sweetheart for $99 for a Friday and Saturday night stay.  Dining will be available in our full-service dining room. Carter Caves State Resort Park, Olive Hill – Valentine’s Dinner Theater Feb. 12-13: Romance that special someone in your life with a nice dinner followed by a theatrical performance by Cool Waters, purveyors of song and humor in the cowboy tradition.   Remember nickel popcorn and sodas, the hero in white and the villains in black? Cool Waters sings the songs of those happier times.  So come on out and meet some cowboys, outlaws, some preachers and a few old friends from your past.   Dress the part if you like and come as cowboys and cowgirls on this interactive retro western night. Admission fee of $34.95 plus tax per person includes dinner and show. Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, Corbin – Valentine Getaway Weekend  Feb. 12-14: Cumberland Falls has been considered one of Kentucky’s most romantic attractions for decades. Your weekend begins with dance on Friday evening with music provided by a DJ. A mystery theater will be offered Saturday evening. The entire weekend package is $299 per couple, which includes two night’s lodging, a dance on Friday and Saturday evening dinner theater and breakfast on Sunday. Single person price is $239. The park is offering a package for singles for one night. Enjoy our Valentine’s Day Dinner Theater Saturday only for $134.50 (single) plus tax. Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park, Burkesville – Valentine’s Day Feb. 12-14: Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park wants you to have a memorable Valentine’s weekend Feb. 12-14.  Have a romantic evening of dinner and dancing with your sweetheart at our beautiful lodge Friday and Saturday night.  Friday night will be a Love Me Tender night as an Elvis impersonator sings sweet love songs accompanied by a live band from 6-8 p.m. CST.  A buffet dinner will be served during the concert and a dance floor will be available.  E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park, Louisville – Caching for Kisses Feb. 14: It may be cold outside but this Valentine’s Day warm up fireside after an eventful day Geocaching.  Every cache you find is sure to contain a chocolate Hershey’s Kiss, including two new permanent caches to the park.  Finish up around the fire ring with S’mores and Hot Cocoa. Too chilly for your little cachers?  The Park Recreation Staff will entertain the little ones with games and crafts while you’re out.  There is no additional fee for the children’s program but you must register children by Feb. 12th to participate. General Butler State Resort Park, Carrollton – Perfect Harmony Dinner Theatre Weekend Feb. 12-14: Every couple deserves a weekend away, so come and enjoy yourself at our Dinner Theatre Weekend. General Butler is nestled between rolling hills and stunning views of the Kentucky and Ohio Rivers; along with being steep in history! Package price is $275 plus tax per couple. Lake Barkley State Resort Park, Cadiz – Valentine Package Feb. 13-14: The park is offering special weekend packages. There will be a Saturday evening dance with Syndicate of Soul of Nashville. A two-night package including Saturday prime rib dinner, dance with a live band and Sunday breakfast is $239 per couple.
