Macy’s Used Book Sale Feb. 5-7 will benefit Book Fest, literacy projects

The annual Macy’s Used Book Sale will be held Feb. 5-7 at Bowling Green’s Historic L&N Depot.
Thousands of materials will be available for sale at the event. Proceeds from the used book sale will benefit the Southern Kentucky Book Fest partnership and area literacy projects.

“Macy’s enjoys helping the community recycle their books for this great cause,” said Jerald Manning, general manager of Macy’s. “Macy’s has been a long-time supporter of SOKY Book Fest and we are glad we can help by sponsoring the used book sale to raise much needed funds for the event.”
Donations of books, videos, CDs, DVDs and audio books can be made at Macy’s, Warren County Public Library main branch, or WKU Libraries Java City and Cravens Fourth Floor Circulation Desk through Feb. 1. Donated materials are tax deductible.
The sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 5, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 6, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 7. Volunteers are needed to unload books prior to the sale and to assist customers during the sale dates.
SOKY Book Fest is a partnership project of WKU Libraries, Warren County Public Library, and Barnes and Noble Booksellers. The partnership’s mission is to encourage reading and the love of books, and to be a positive force in promoting literacy in the region and state.
