Sam P. Tuggle Jr., 81, died Dec. 28, 2009, in Bowling Green.

The Highway native was born Feb. 16, 1928. He owned and operated Nasam Manufacturing in Greensburg from 1983-2000. He worked as regional supervisor for Packers & Stockyards Administration, United States Department of Agriculture, retiring in 1982.

He was a 1944 Clinton County High School graduate and graduated from Western Kentucky State Teachers College with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture. He was an Army veteran and a Methodist. He married Naomi Lucas Tuggle on July 26, 1957. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Lucas Tuggle, husband of Bonnie Brent Tuggle of Crestwood, who survives. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, James D., Charles M., Finis and Clarence Tuggle; and two sisters, Betty Lou Tuggle and Clara Tuggle.

Memorial service is at 11 a.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel. Interment is private. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Other survivors include his wife, Naomi Lucas Tuggle; two sons, Ricky Allen Tuggle and his wife, Janet Bicker Tuggle, of Hernando, Fla., and Samuel P. “Tripp” Tuggle III and his wife, Shannon Grace Tuggle, of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren, Shawna Tuggle, Lucas Tuggle and his wife, Stacie Bowling Tuggle, Kelly Tuggle McAllister and her husband, Frank McAllister, Michelle Tuggle, Sean Tuggle, Alan Tuggle, Samuel P. “Sam” Tuggle IV and Emma Grace Tuggle; three great-grandchildren, John Tuggle “J.T.” McAllister, Madden Grace McAllister and Aubrey Roberts; and four sisters, Anna Sue Tuggle Davis and Mary Eva Tuggle Anderson, both of Auburndale, Joyce Tuggle Hatfield, of Spring Hill, Fla., and Linda Tuggle White, of Roswell, Ga.
