John “Johnson” Hampton Amos, 64, of Bowling Green, died Dec. 26, 2009, at his residence.

The Park City native was employed by Monarch Environmental for more than 30 years and worked for S-R of Kentucky. Johnson was a member of Zion Hill United Baptist Church, served with the church for 34 years and was a former chairman of trustees, an usher, a brotherhood member and ministry van driver. He was a son of the late George Amos and Katie Amos. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Edward Amos.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Barlow Cemetery in Park City. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burnam & Son Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Hayden Amos; four daughters, Deborah Robinson, of Antioch, Tenn., Mary Rice and her husband, the Rev. Michael Rice, of Glasgow, and Victoria Boards and her husband, Richard, and Rita Whitney and her husband, the Rev. Chris Whitney, all of Bowling Green; three sons, Ronnie Robinson and his wife, Joyce, of Bowling Green, Ricky Joe Robinson and his wife, Margaret, of Nashville, and Keith Robinson and his wife, Tanaquil, of Glasgow; three sisters, Virginia Wilson, Louiza Cleoria Bunton and Maudie Veoria Boards and her husband, Joe Henry, all of Bowling Green; four brothers, William Taylor Amos, of New Albany, Ind., Roy Thomas Amos, of Bowling Green, Robert Lee Amos and his wife, Jasper, of Bowling Green, and Leroy Henderson Amos, of Indianapolis; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; adopted grandchildren, Letisha Davidson, Marieka Tisdale, Tyson Taylor and Tyler Taylor, all of Bowling Green; godchildren, Mathaniel Tisdale and Mary Elliott, of Louisville and Judy Burnam, of Bowling Green; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; and a special friend, Michael Taylor, of Bowling Green.
