BURKESVILLE — Bethel Scott, 90, of Burkesville died Nov. 10, 2009, at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville.
The Cumberland County native was born Feb. 5, 1919. He was a farmer, a carpenter and a member of Hickory Grove Church of Christ. He recently attended the Burkesville Separate Baptist Church. He was a a son of the late Jessie Frank and Fannie Belle Murphy Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Alma Blythe Scott; a brother, Jesse Scott; and two sisters, Ovie and Onie Poindexter.
Funeral was Thursday at Norris-New Funeral Home, with burial in Murley Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Jessie Carl Scott and his wife, Eugema, and Charles Randol Scott and his wife, Holly, all of Burkesville; four daughters, Shelvy Jean Anderson and her husband, Troy, and Virginia Mae Anderson and her husband, Junior, all of Glasgow, and Willa Dean Anderson Miller and her husband, Jim, and Wanda Lee Fletcher and her husband, Keith, all of Bowling Green; a brother, Stanley Scott, of New Palestine, Ind.; two sisters, Lucy Worth, of Indianapolis and Elsie Scott, of Celina, Tenn.; an aunt, Hattie Stewart’ of Coatesville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Dile, Greg Anderson, Jeff Anderson, Douglas Cain, Chris Anderson, Melissa Williams, Angela Havener, Scott Fletcher, Sarah Kate Scott and William Charles Scott; and 19 great-grandchildren.
