A Bowling Green man received a 20-year prison sentence Monday for his role in robberies at two restaurants in a four-month span.

Justin Lamar McDonald, 22, was sentenced in Warren Circuit Court on Monday before Circuit Judge Steve Wilson of charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

McDonald admitted his involvement in an Oct. 13, 2008, robbery of Burger King, 3020 Scottsville Road, from which the second-degree robbery charge originated.

The first-degree robbery charge stemmed from a Jan. 23 incident at Country Mill Restaurant at U.S. 31-W By-Pass, in which McDonald was armed with a handgun.

In both incidents, McDonald was able to carry out the robberies with help from restaurant employees who provided information beforehand about store operations. Authorities charged several other people in connection with the two robberies.
