Sarah Evelyn Miller Murray, 87, of Dearborn, Mich., formerly of Bowling Green, died at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 7, 2009, in Commerce Township, Mich.

The Bowling Green native was born Dec. 5, 1921. She was retired as the head of dairy at Kroger after 32 years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Dearborn and enjoyed church activities. She loved to bake, do crafts and decorate. She was a daughter of the late Jacob Harvey Miller and Frances Roemer Miller and the wife of the late Otha Woodrow Murray, who died Nov. 2, 1999. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.

Funeral is at 2:30 p.m. today at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins at noon today at the funeral home.

Survivors include a son, Dean Murray and his wife, Cheryl, of Commerce Township, Mich.; a daughter, Barbara Jeanne Powers and her husband, Jack, of Lexington; two brothers, George Miller of Bowling Green and Johnnie Miller and his wife, Mary Ann, of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Dr. Scott Murray-Harris and wife, Dori, of Grand Ledge, Mich., Richmond Powers and his wife, Lauren, of Mineral Point, Wis., Melanie Hudson and her husband, Dan, and Leigh Anne Powers and her fiance, John Burkhart, all of Lexington, and Nicole Lewis and her husband, Michael, of Howell, Mich.; four great-grandchildren, Julianna, Elise, Trevor and Brendan; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
