SCOTTSVILLE — Jimmie D. Stephens, 94, of Fountain Run died at 1:05 p.m. Aug. 26, 2009, at The Medical Center.
The Barren County native was a retired farmer, an Army veteran and a member of Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Willie Thompson Stephens and Lura Kelsey Stephens and the husband of the late Clara Velma Russell Stephens. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Stephens; a granddaughter, Jennifer Crowe; a brother, Henry Stephens; and a sister, Clorene Martin.
Funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home, with burial in Fountain Run Cemetery. Visitation is in progress today at the funeral home.

Survivors include three sons, Russell Stephens and Rex Stephens and his wife, Vanessa, all of Scottsville, and J.D. Stephens and his wife, Judy, of Mount Washington; three daughters, Virginia Crowe and her husband, Norman, of Fern Creek, Juanita Shipley of Scottsville and Linda Gass and her husband, Lanas, of Fountain Run; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
