Both northbound lanes and one southbound lane were closed to clear the wreckage. Trooper Charles Swiney, spokesman for Kentucky State Police Post 3, said the wreck occurred when a tire blew out on a dump truck traveling on the parkway, causing the driver to lose control. Swiney said one person was hospitalized with a broken back and four others complained of head and neck injuries.
