Photojournalist Linda Schaefer to speak at Warren County Public Library

Linda Schaefer’s career has taken her around the world to photograph a remote Amazonian tribe, NYPD crime scenes, and the lost children of Rio de Janeiro. But like so many others, Schaefer found particular inspiration in the work of Mother Teresa and her Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India. Mother Teresa was initially skeptical of Schaefer’s request to document the work, her persistence and dedication earned Mother Teresa’s confidence and resulted in the book Come and See: a Photojournalist’s Journey into the World of Mother Teresa.

On July 23, international photojournalist Linda Schaefer will speak about her journey to Calcutta.  “Ms Schaefer’s appearance is part of the library’s The World As I See It speaker series,” says library director Lisa Rice. “We are looking forward to hearing of her extraordinary experiences with Mother Teresa.”

Ms. Schaefer will speak at the Main Library at 1225 State Street at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23.  For more information, visit www.warrenpl.org or contact Jayne Pelaski at jaynep@warrenpl.org.
