Echo Megan Moore, M.D., 38, of Franklin died July 7, 2009, at The Medical Center.
The Bowling Green native was born on Father’s Day, June 20, 1971. She was valedictorian of the 1989 graduating class of Bowling Green High School. She attended Transylvania University as a William T. Young scholar, majoring in biology and psychology. While at Transy, she served as a legislative intern in the U.S. Senate and played varsity tennis, earning Academic All-American honors. Dr. Moore was a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. While in medical school, she was president of Women’s Health Advocates in Training and received the Dr. S. Spafford Ackerly Award for most promising student entering the field of psychiatry. Echo completed her residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She was then an associate with Grayson and Associates in Birmingham, Ala., and at the time of her death was employed by Centerstone in Madison and Clarksville, Tenn. She was national board certified in neurology and psychiatry. She was a daughter of Russell and Nancy Moore of Bowling Green, who survive. She was preceded in death by a paternal grandmother, Lorene Murley; and maternal grandparents, Mattie and Malcolm Milligan.
Memorial service is at 1 p.m. Sunday at The Presbyterian Church on State Street. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at The Presbyterian Church parlor. There is no burial service. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Other survivors include two brothers, Devon Moore of Clarksville, Tenn., and Dov Moore and his wife, Linda, of Bowling Green; two nieces, Jessica and Emily of Bowling Green; a nephew, Sawyer of Bowling Green; her dearest friend, Karen Thacker of Franklin; an uncle, John Milligan and his wife, Anita, of Little Rock, Ark.; three aunts, Kay Chitmon and her husband, Wendell, of Jonesboro, Ark., Hazel Ensor and her husband, John, of Sikeston, Mo., and Wanna Widner of Portageville, Mo.; several special cousins and godchildren; and her beloved pets.
