Cecil L. Martin

GLASGOW — Cecil Lenford Martin, 75, of Glasgow died May 29, 2009, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital.

Martin was a retired manager of the Publication Room at R. R. Donnelley & Sons, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean war and a member of the Church of Christ in Nashville. He was a son of the late Effie Martin and the foster son of the late Annie and Doc Martin. He was preceded in death by a sister, Olene Martin Roundtree.

Funeral is at 2 p.m. Monday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by the Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Visitation is after noon Monday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Corine Martin; a daughter, Vanessa Abidoye and her husband, Emmanuel, of Marietta, Ga.; a grandson, Cecil J. Abidoye of Marietta; a stepgranddaughter, Elizabeth Abidoye; a sister, Agatha Sublett and her husband, Edward, of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.
