Edward Lee “Dickie” Whiteside, 64, of Bowling Green died at 2:30 a.m. May 28, 2009, at his residence.
The Warren County native was born Dec. 3, 1944. He was a cook and former employee of Long John Silver, Hardee’s, Western Kentucky University, Olive Garden and Holiday Inn. He was a member of Woodburn Baptist Church. Dickie loved to sing, loved people, had a big heart and would give you the shirt off his back. He was a son of the late Albert Britt and Vannie Lee Barksdale Whiteside. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Edward “Bus” Whiteside; and three sisters, Mattie Barnett, Charline Price and Alice Cooper.
Graveside service is at 10 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery on the old side. Visitation is private. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two sisters, Pearline Barnett of Bowling Green and Sarah Beasley and her husband, Arthur, of Franklin; a brother, Clarence Whiteside and his wife, Florance, of Bowling Green; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; a great-great-niece; six great-great-nephews; and several cousins and friends.
