I am writing in response to the recent article on Katrina Phelps, “Nonprofit director pleads to fraud,” in the Feb. 10 paper.

What was not addressed in the article is the tremendously positive influence on this community that Katrina Phelps has had through her service to Western Kentucky University, the ALIVE Center and the Kaleidoscope program, among others.

It was her vision that enabled some of these programs to come into being and flourish and we will continue to benefit from her contributions far into the future.
