Police News: Two men sought for alleged scam

Crime Stoppers is teaming up with the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office to solve an alleged scam involving a 95-year-old woman.
On Jan. 7, a white male knocked on an elderly woman’s residence door on Stevenson Road in Franklin saying he was there to do roof repair. Before leaving, the suspect stole three checks from her checkbook. One of the stolen checks was cashed by a man identified as Michael Allison Sr. Allison is wanted in Simpson County in connection with a prior scam. A second suspect tried to cash another of the stolen checks at Regions Bank in Franklin. He was captured on surveillance video. Authorities are hoping someone knows the whereabouts of Michael Allison Sr. and can help identify the other suspect.

Criminal mischief — Six tires were cut on three vehicles parked in the 200 block of West 14th Avenue on Friday or Saturday, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report. The vehicles were all owned by the same person. Damage totaled $1,100.
Theft — A Garmin navigation system, radar detector and Oakley sunglasses, valued collectively at $785, were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Old Morgantown Road on Monday or Tuesday, according to a city police report.
Theft — A wallet, jewelry, debit card and identification cards, valued collectively at $1,515, were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2900 block of Scottsville Road on Saturday, according to a city police report.
