Author Silas House to present fiction writing workshop Jan. 23-25

Award-winning author Silas House will present a fiction writing workshop Jan. 23-25 at WKU’s Cherry Hall for 15 competitively chosen writers. The workshop is sponsored by the Creative Writing Committee of WKU’s English Department.

House is the author of the novels “Clay’s Quilt,” “A Parchment of Leaves” and “The Coal Tattoo” and the play “The Hurting Part.” His fourth novel “Eli the Good” will be published this year.
House also will conduct a reading at 6 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Warren County Public Library.
His work is the recipient of two Kentucky Novel of the Year Awards, the Award for Special Achievement from the Fellowship of Southern Writers, the Appalachian Book of the Year, the Chaffin Award, and many others. He is a two-time finalist for both the Southeast Booksellers Award and the Southern Book Critics Circle Prize. Click here for his blog “A Country Boy Can Surmise.”
