Joseph L. Wheet

Joseph L. Wheet, 73, of Spencer County died at 4:32 p.m. Jan. 12, 2009, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

The Barren County native was a bus driver for the City of Louisville. He was a son of the late James Elmer “Dick” Wheet and Alma Faye Eaton Wheet.

Graveside service was today at Fairview Cemetery No. 2. Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include three sons, James Richard Wheet and his wife, Gail, of Bowling Green, Anthony Dale Wheet of Louisville and Robert Wheet of San Bernandino, Calif.; five sisters, Beatrice Berry of Louisville, Effie Defevers and her husband, Tommy, of Harker Heights, Texas, Juanita Richardson and her husband, Thomas, of Taylorsville, Barbara Janes of Edinburgh, Ind., and Patricia Houchens of Bowling Green; a brother, Eugene Wheet of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Bessie Wheet of Louisville.
