Kentucky State Parks Plan News Year’s Eve Celebrations For 2009

You can ring in 2009 at a number of Kentucky State Parks with New Year’s celebrations and parties.
Eleven state resort parks across Kentucky are having parties, dances and dinners on Dec. 31 to say goodbye to 2008 and welcome in a new year. The resorts have lodges, cottages, restaurants and other facilities and all will be offering overnight packages that include meals and a party, dance or show.

Barren River Lake State Resort Park, Lucas
Get away this New Year’s Eve to Barren River. Package price: $130 and includes one night lodging, two dinner buffets and two breakfast buffets. Call the park at 1-800-325-0057 for information.
Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park, Mount Olivet
Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park will be offering a special room rate for the new year, along with special meals. Stay New Year’s Eve night in a lodge room at the park for $74.95 and get a second night for $20.09. For New Year’s Eve, the park is serving a special buffet featuring some of its most requested dishes, such as Fried Chicken, Roast Beef, Fried Fish, Seafood Alfredo, Broiled Fish, Grilled Bistro Vegetables, and an assortment of desserts. Buffet will be served from 4 to 8 p.m. for $12.95 plus tax and beverage. On Jan. 1, the park will welcome in the New Year with traditional foods that bring good luck and prosperity throughout the year, such as Corn Beef Brisket, Carved Country Ham, Cooked Cabbage, Fried Cabbage, Sauerkraut, and more. Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park, Buckhorn
Welcome in the New Year with a stay at the lodge. A package is available with dinner, dance and lodging the evening of Dec. 31. Package price: $150 per couple and includes activities, dinner, dance with party favors and hors d’oeuvres on Dec. 31. Dinner is from 5-8 p.m. and the music is from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Call 1-800-325-0058.
Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, Corbin
Cumberland Falls is offering a New Year’s Eve package that includes dinner, a dance, a lodge room for one night, New Year’s Day brunch for two for $159 plus tax. Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park, Burkesville
Ring in a Happy New Year at Dale Hollow with a night full of fun and dancing. Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, Prestonsburg
Spend New Year’s Eve with our mystery dinner theater as guests help solve the crime in “A Clearly Present Danger.” For $140 a couple, see the show, have a buffet dinner and spend one night at the park. Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, Gilbertsville
Join Kentucky Dam Village for New Year’s Eve and its dinner and dance package. For $185.99 per couple, you get a one night stay, dinner and dancing to the music of the Alonzo Pennington Band from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Hors devours and party favors provided.
