Library Announces Winners of Poetry Contest

Speak Out @ your library was a poetry contest sponsored by the Warren County Public Library. The contest encouraged middle and high school students to express themselves through poetry. Hundreds of entries were submitted, and the winners were announced today at the Bob Kirby Branch.
Junior High:

1st Place n Montez Coates, 8th grade, Drakes Creek Middle School
2nd Place n Jennifer King, 7th grade, Drakes Creek Middle School
3rd Place n John Mark Heard, 8th grade, Drakes Creek Middle School
Honorable mention: Ethan Shutt (Drakes Creek), Katie Duncan (Drakes Creek), and Linnie Schell (Bowling Green Junior High)
Senior High:
1st Place n Nadia Bentley, 10th grade, Old Union School

3rd Place n Jennifer Folsom, 9th grade, Warren East High School

“We were so impressed with the entries submitted for this contest,” says Ashley Fowlkes, library outreach manager. “Our community certainly has many talented writers, and we applaud the teachers who support them.”
