- Gayle Novick exhibit at Warren County Public Library
The work of local artist Gayle Novick will be featured at the Porter Café Gallery at the Main Library at 1225 State Street.
“I moved to Bowling Green from Minnesota in 2000,” says Gayle Novick. “Many years earlier I earned a B.A. in studio art from the University of Minnesota. Later I worked in the graphics department of a large corporation. It was before computers were used widely in graphics and I drew charts by hand with technical pens. I began to doodle with these pens and did delicate cross hatch drawings, mostly in black ink and sometimes color. I have been fortunate to take art classes at WKU and have further developed my art.”
“Lately, I find myself moving away from the more representational work and am working more abstractly. I am experimenting with digital prints from my drawings and watercolors and also with oils and acrylics. Last year I moved to a house in the hills and woods. It seems inevitable that the landscape, plant and animal life surrounding me influence my work in new way,” concludes Novick.
The exhibit starts December 8 and runs through January 2, 2009. For more information, visit our web site at www.warrenpl.org or email Jayne Pelaski at jayne@warrenpl.org
