We should be leery of landlord/tenant act

Although I can claim no knowledge of the landlord/tenant law recently discussed in Bowling Green, I believe I have some lessons learned from living nearly 65 years.
In my life, I have owned three homes, been a landlord twice, and in the last few years of my life, I have had the pleasure of being a tenant, in this state and in Florida. I have had good tenants, and so-so tenants, but never any really bad ones. My firm belief is that as a tenant, we should treat the rental property as if it were our own. For the last several years, I have been blessed to be a tenant of Brantley Appraisal.
Mr. Harold Brantley, Mrs. Sandy Billingsley, Mrs. Linda McCaig and Mr. Timmy Decker are all, without exception, four of the finest, most honest, caring people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They treat everyone with respect and caring. I have said many times that this is Mr. Brantley’s house, but this is my home.
If all landlords were as wonderful as these four people are – and if all tenants felt the need to respect the property of others – perhaps there would be no need of a law, where common decency should prevail.
