Daniel S. Overholt

Daniel Steven Overholt, 61, of Bowling Green, formerly of Emery, S.D., died Sept. 23, 2008, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

The Des Moines, Iowa, native was born May 15, 1947. He was a trade helper at Camp Dodge, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Colorado, a life member of V.F.W., Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion and a Vietnam War Marine veteran. He was a son of the late John Russell Overholt and Lois Douglas Overholt.

Funeral is at 7 p.m. Sunday at Beech Bend Park at the Dallas Jones Pavilion. There will be no visitation. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Overholt; four daughters, Natasha Street and her husband, Daniel, of Pueblo, Colo., Michele Lewis and Danielle Barker and her husband, Chandler, all of North Carolina, and Kathy Ward; eight sons, Daniel S. Overholt and John Abraham Overholt and his wife, Nakoal, all of Pueblo, Nathaniel Overholt and his wife, Jody, of Texas Creek, Colo., James Mason and his wife, Lynette, Chris Mason and his wife, Emily, and Todd Mason and his wife, Sara, all of Des Moines, Shawn Ward of Council Bluff, Iowa, and Nick Ward and his wife, Denay, of Keokuck, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; and two sisters, Linda Blackford Overholt of Omaha, Neb., and Carolyn Thompson and her husband, James, of Marshalltown, Iowa.
