Corvette Club hosting car show Saturday

The Bowling Green Assembly Corvette Club and Auto Masters will have “Vettes & Pets” at its second annual Show and Shine Car Show at Vette City Antique Mall.

Gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday followed by judging at 11 a.m. and awards at 1 p.m. Registration is $25 for participants, who can register Saturday or before by calling 796-9173 or e-mailing carsand

bikes@bgacorvetteclub.com. The first 25 to register will get free “Vettes & Pets” T-shirts. There will also be concessions, music, auction and games. Admission is free for spectators.

Vehicles will be judged in five classes: Corvettes, motorcycles, street cars, classics pre-1980 and street rods, Corvette Club events coordinator Lou Eckhart said. There will be 23 trophies awarded.

“We invite people to come in and show cars – any make, any model,” he said. “We’ll have raffles and giveaways all day.”

Proceeds will benefit the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society, which will have an on-site adoption center at the show. The site will also be used to collect things needed by the humane society, including bleach, cat litter, Clorox wipes and paper towels.
