B. Paul Deaton

B. Paul Deaton, 73, of Bowling Green died Sept. 10, 2008, at his residence.
The Buckhorn native was a graduate of Hazard High School in Hazard, where he was a member of Exhausted Rooster in the Hazard Jaycees. He spent 17 years working with GMAC and retired from Health Services, DHR in Frankfort after 21 years of service. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a lifelong University of Kentucky sports fan. He attended Hillvue Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Deaton was greatly loved by his family, whom he deeply cared for. He loved his pets very much and truly enjoyed western movies. He was a son of the late Logan Deaton and Mary Ellen Sebastian Deaton. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifton Deaton, Logan Deaton Jr. and Melvin Deaton; and two sisters, Vesta Burnette and Thelma Buckner.
Memorial service is at 11 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at the cemetery at that time. Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki Jo Knox Deaton; three daughters, V. Marguerite Radatz of Woodstock, Ga., and Paula D. Plummer and Kathy L. Chambers, both of Bowling Green; a sister, Marabeth Ingram of Watkinsville, Ga.; six grandchildren, Dylan Paul Radatz of Kennesaw, Ga., Tyler E. Radatz and Cassie S. Radatz, both of Woodstock, and Destin E. Hudson, James Benton Plummer and Jonathan Logan Chambers, all of Bowling Green; three great-grandchildren, Alexis M. Phillips of Canton, Ga., and Alexis Radatz and Jasmine Radatz, both of Kennesaw; a son-in-law, Steve Chambers of Bowling Green; two brothers-in-law, James Buckner of Bowling Green and Charles Everett of Deland, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Everett of Deland; special friends, Dawn Frontz and family of Bowling Green, Patti and Lindsay Gay of Bowling Green and Harold and Becky Herrington of Calhoun, Ga.; and three beloved pets, Callie, Ollie and Miss Kitty.
