POLICE NEWS: Two injured in traffic accident on parkway

A two-vehicle accident Thursday on the William H. Natcher Parkway resulted in injuries to two people.

According to a Kentucky State Police report, a 2004 Jeep Cherokee driven by Anna McGuyer, 46, of Morgantown, traveling north, attempted to pass a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria driven James Brown, 76, of Russellville.

The report stated that at about the 7-mile marker, McGuyer’s vehicle moved back into the right lane, clipping the front end of Brown’s car.

McGuyer lost control of her vehicle, which came to rest on the driver’s side between a rock wall and a concrete barrier.

McGuyer was extricated from her vehicle and transported to The Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Brown was not injured, but a passenger in his car, Marjorie Flener of Morgantown, was treated and released at The Medical Center.

All three people involved in the accident were wearing seat belts.

Burglary — Someone broke into Great Clips, 760 Campbell Lane, and stole money from a safe under the front counter and from a cash register between 6 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report. The front door to the business had been pried open and a desk door had been removed to access the safe, which was also pried open. Damage and losses totaled $734.

Burglary — Someone broke into Victory Baptist Church, 1202 State St., and stole a computer, lapel microphone and miscellaneous items between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a city police report. The frame of the back door of the church had been damaged. Losses and damage totaled $1,025.

Theft — Ninety-seven sets of aluminum molding were stolen from a warehouse in the 300 block of Southwood Court between Feb. 15, 2007, and July 25, according to a city police report. The theft was reported Thursday. The victim stated that Feb. 15, 2007, was the date of the most recent inventory of the moldings. Losses totaled $750,000.

Theft — Catalytic converters valued at $3,000 were reported stolen at 8:42 p.m. Tuesday from two vehicles parked in a lot in the 4800 block of Nashville Road, according to a city police report.
