The enormous orange T-Rex on Interstate 65, near the Cave City exit cannot be missed. Now, if you look closely over the tree tops, you can see the heads of a new herd of mammoths that have recently moved into Dinosaur World.
This new Mammoth herd is part of a new exhibit called “Mammoth Gardens” at Dinosaur World in Cave City. The life size and scientifically accurate adult and juvenile mammoths are lurking deep in the Dinosaur World woods. In keeping with the educational focus of the outdoor dinosaur museum, informative and unique plaques form the interior of the gardens.
The second new exhibit is called “The Boneyard”. Children of all ages will be able to unearth a life size dinosaur skeleton in a unique paleontological atmosphere. Visitors will enter a prehistoric structure to find a sand filled dig area. Using specific tools, the life size skeleton can gradually appear. There will be a viewing area for adults to encourage their junior paleontologists.
July marks the five year anniversary at Dinosaur World in Cave City. In celebration of this event, both new exhibits will open to the public on July 1st. A “grand unveiling” will be held on July 8th at 6:00 p.m. All media and tourism officials are invited to attend the unveiling.
