The Club at Olde Stone to Feature New Fully-Integrated Play Format for Children Age Ten and Under Enabling Them to “Play to Learn” Rather than “Learn to Play”

The Club at Olde Stone today announced that it will officially utilize QuickStart Tennis, an innovative new play format that will help to get more children 10 years of age and under into the game, in its programming in the upcoming year. The QuickStart classes, along with private tennis and golf lessons, are available to the public.

The QuickStart Tennis play format, one of the most significant moves ever to introduce tennis to youth, provides a way to bring kids 10 and under into the gram by utilizing equipment, court dimensions, and scoring that is tailored to their age and size. There will be two age breakouts for this format: 10 and under, 8 and under.

“The lower bouncing balls and smaller nets will allow children to have instant success and be less intimidated on the court,” said Katy Tinius, tennis professional at The Club at Olde Stone. “It can do for tennis what t-ball does for baseball. It’s a great concept and long overdue!”

The Club at Olde Stone will hold its Junior Tennis Camp June 2-3 for children eight years old and older. June 9th will mark the beginning of the QuickStart program and will continue throughout the summer each Tuesday. Please register your child early as classes are expected to fill quickly. Remember that clay court tennis shoes are required.
