Alfreda L. McWhorter

Alfreda “Freda” Lee Davis McWhorter, 66, of Bowling Green died at 8:09 a.m. March 13, 2008, at The Medical Center.

The Cumberland County native was born Nov. 6, 1941. She worked at Big B Cleaners as a presser. She was a Methodist and a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She loved to travel. Spending time with her family was most important to her. She was a daughter of the late Lee Davis and Maude Mae Melton Davis and the wife of the late Welby McWhorter. She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Lee McWhorter Sr.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Dean and her husband, Randy, of Bowling Green; two sisters, Linda Masters and her husband, Chuck, of Louisville and Jo Etta Pierce and her husband, Danny, of Burkesville; four grandchildren, Stephanie Miller and her husband, Bo, Eric Thurman and his companion, Cindy, Ricky McWhorter Jr. and his wife, Joy, and Bryan King and his companion, Edith; 12 great-grandchildren, Nikki, Leslee, Amanda, Monica and Ashton Miller, Cierra Dean, Erica and Blake Thurman, Caitlyn, Logan and Kera McWhorter and Dakota King; and two nieces, Sheryl Scott and her husband, Brian, and Deanna Osborn and her husband, Brian.
