POLICE NEWS : Police investigating robbery at World Finance Corp.

Crime Stoppers and the Bowling Green Police Department are looking for information about a robbery at World Finance Corp.

At about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, a man reportedly entered the tax and finance office at 2530 Scottsville Road, pushed an employee’s head down against her desk and demanded money.

The man, dressed in all black, took a blue bag with World Finance printed on it and ran out the door toward Bryant Way.

The employee identified the man as about 6-feet, 3-inches tall and weighing more than 200 pounds, but was unable to identify his race, according to a release from Bowling Green-Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Arrest — Michael D. Monroe, 527 Wooldridge Ave., Hopkinsville, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at his house by the South Central Kentucky Task Force and the Hopkinsville Police Department.

The arrest was in connection with a 2005 incident in which Monroe allegedly sold hydrocodone to an undercover officer at Captain D’s restaurant in Russellville.

He was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and is in the Logan County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.

Burglary — Someone broke into a residence in the 300 block of Pasco Boulevard and stole a PlayStation 2 video game system, stereo, DVD player, a laptop computer, 20 DVDs and three collector’s edition Maker’s Mark bottles between 6:45 a.m. and 10:15 p.m., according to a city police report. The front door was damaged around the dead bolt and doorknob. Lost items and damage totaled $2,200.

Criminal mischief — Someone broke into a 1996 Camaro parked in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street and stole the CD player/stereo, several CDs and about $40 in cash between 10:30 p.m. March 3 and 7 a.m. March 4, according to a city police report. The doors had been pried open and the dashboard and console were destroyed. Damage and lost items totaled $2,040.

Criminal mischief — Someone keyed both sides, the back and hood of a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee parked outside Campus Plaza, 1733 Campus Plaza Court between 5 p.m. March 6 and 1 a.m. March 7, according to a city police report. Damage totaled $1,000.

Theft — A total of $532 in cash was reported stolen from a 2007 Pontiac G6 parked in the parking lot of Cracker Barrel restaurant, 1960 Mel Browning Road, between 11:18 a.m. and 11:23 a.m. March 6, according to a city police report.

Theft — Someone stole a laptop computer valued at $1,600 from an apartment in the 2600 block of Navajo Drive between 1 a.m. and 9 p.m. March 1, according to a city police report.

Theft — An employee at Minit Mart, 3011 Nashville Road, reportedly made two money orders totaling $350 for herself at 8:38 a.m. Saturday without paying for them, according to a city police report.

Theft — Someone stole a GPS unit from a Nissan pickup truck parked outside The Deuce, 302 Morgantown Road, between 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. March 4, according to a city police report.
