POLICE NEWS : Adairville man killed, three others injured in traffic accident Sunday

A single-vehicle accident in Logan County resulted in the death of an Adairville man Sunday.

Kevin Ray Hightower, age unavailable, of Adairville was killed after the 1994 Lincoln Town Car he was driving went out of control on Keysburg Road.

According to a news release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the car dropped off the right side of the road at 3:42 p.m. Sunday in the 7100 block of Keysburg Road, traveled down an embankment and struck a fence before coming to rest in a field.

Hightower, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, Josee Hightower of Adairville, was transported by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with serious injuries to her head and face.

Two other passengers, Staci Rushing and her daughter, Mercedes Sharp, also of Adairville, were treated at the scene and released.

Alcohol was a factor in the accident, according to the sheriff’s office.

Theft — Someone stole a purse and camera, valued together at $520, from a truck parked in the 100 block of Old Morgantown Road at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.

Theft — Someone stole 10 brown metal bistro tables and three brown metal garden benches from Steamboat Salvage, 1750 Campbell Lane, between 6 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday, according to a city police report. Also, someone stole 20 wooden upright pallet holders sometime March 1 or March 2 at Steamboat Salvage’s warehouse at 325 Emmett Drive. Lost items were valued at $2,700.

Theft — Someone stole a laptop computer, MP3 player, cloth satchel and $100 in cash from a vehicle parked at Cue Time, 532 Three Springs Road, between 7 p.m. and 10:07 p.m. Saturday, according to a city police report. Lost items were valued at $2,090.

Theft — Someone stole three chainsaws and various tree service utensils from a truck owned by A&G Tree Service parked in the 2000 block of Russellville Road between 4:30 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, according to a city police report. A side compartment door had been pried open. Lost items and damage totaled $2,225.

Theft — Someone stole 110 wooden pallets valued at $468 from Specialty Concrete, 144 Dishman Lane, between 6 p.m. March 4 and 6 a.m. March 5, according to a city police report.

Burglary — Someone broke into a house in the 500 block of Lansdale and stole several items of jewelry and credit cards, according to a city police report. Access was gained by removing a storm window. Lost items totaled $2,080.

Burglary — Someone broke the lock on a storage building in the 1400 block of Nutwood Street and stole a 20-gallon compressor, nail gun/stapler and drill between 12:30 p.m. Feb. 27 and 5:30 p.m. Feb. 28, according to a city police report. The victim also reported having two heavy-duty floor tacks stolen from under his house. The lost items were valued at $683.
