I’m proud of our library system

I am writing to congratulate our community on a job well done.
We faced the dilemma of losing our library at Sugar Maple Square. As the depot branch was also closing, library services for the communities of Delafield, Northern Heights, Main Avenue, Parker-Bennett and the majority of the West End area would have had very limited library services. The library staff reached out to get the community involved.
After two community meetings with input from community leaders and the Bowling Green Public Library board of directors, the Bowling Green Public Library staff, and the Housing Authority of Bowling Green came up with a solution that would place a library at 305 Graham Ave., a location within easy reach of all our community members.
This library location will offer regular hours and services to the Delafield, Parker-Bennett, Main Avenue and the general population living in the West End of town. What could have felt like rejection turned into a celebration of collaboration as we shared the responsibility to serve our community.
It felt good to be part of something so positive.
