The Daily News was named Division II newspaper of the year at the Kentucky News Photographers Association’s annual Photographer of the Year contest.
Photo editor Joe Imel won first place in the news picture category, third place for sports picture story, and honorable mention in sports action.
Photographer David W. Smith won first place in the picture package category.
Photographer Hunter Wilson won third place in the sports action category.
Wilson and Imel also won second and third place, respectively, in the team multimedia category.
